Looby Scooby Bug

We have had a lot of posts about McKay.  Just so everybody is aware: we do have two children!  Here is a little taste of our baby girl.  We call her Gens, Gensie, Gensie Lou, Sister Sue, Looby-scooby Bug (McKay's specialty), Love Bug, Who Lou, Pig Tails, and probably a few others that I am forgetting.

We wish you could all know her as well as we do!  It is hard to remember that so much of our family has barely even met her.  She has such a fun, happy, loving, and sometimes spunky personality; and we couldn't love her more!  She does say about 5 words, but only when she wants to.  She LOVES the outside and water (we turn on the tub for a bath and she comes running every time).  She also LOVES her big brother; she doesn't know what to do with herself when he is not around and she follows him every step of the way.

She hates the lawn mower, so this is how she tolerates it

Lots of personality, but not very lady-like!

Relaxing with her bottle after mowing the lawn with Dad

Played in the sand box just before bath time, so we stipped her down before going in.  She not only dumps it all over herself but she likes to eat it and grind it in her teeth.

We love our baby girl!

Mckay Conversations 1.0

McKay: " What's making that noise? Oh it's just the washington." (washing machine)

The other day Quinn was feeling the baby move and McKay was very interested in being a part of it. We had my shirt up and they were feeling and talking to the baby. McKay was very excited and was telling us how much he likes the baby in mommy's tummy. Then he said...

Mckay: The baby he's looking at me.

Me: He is?

McKay: Oh I hear it!

Me: What's he saying?

Mckay: It's saying 'Let me out of here'.

Then he touched my belly again and said....

Mckay: Oh he touched me!

Me: You're actually touching my skin. The baby is under my skin.

McKay: You better get your skin off him.

After we went to the beach last week we had some towels that were wet and full of sand so I hung them out on the line to blow in the wind and get some sand off. We don't usually have things hanging on the line so when McKay saw them I got a thorough interview about why they were out there. After I had explained the whole thing to him we were about ready to eat lunch so I said a blessing on the food. After I finished McKay said "You didn't say a prayer about the towels"  I told him he could say one, so he did.
"Dear Heavenly Father we're grateful opportunity the towels get good, amen."

McKay: "Mom, I went to the temple to talk to some people."

Me: "You did? Who did you talk to?"

McKay: "Oh just President Monson, President Chef, President Ernie, and President Cookie Monster."

The other night we were kneeling down to say family prayer. McKay wanted to say it and this is how the prayer went. "Dear Heavenly Father we're grateful opportunity O God ternal Fodder we ask thee in the name of thy son to bless and sanctify, amen." Needless to say we were quiet surprised ourselves. We didn't know that he knew even that much of the sacrament prayer.

Yesterday Quinn and I were having a little discussion about finances. We were just talking. We were not upset at all. I said to Quinn "I'm going to fire you." McKay hears me say that and pops up. "Mommy, don't fire my daddy, he's a very nice guy and he will be very sad if you fire him."

More of our daily joys with McKay

This is how McKay now says our family prayers: "Heavenly Father we're grateful opportunity my mommy and daddy not on their big date (mexico). We're grateful opportunity my owee got better, make it better." Then he closes the prayer.

We have told McKay all the names we are considering for this baby and he says no to all of them. He wants to name it Baby Jesus and he is certain it's a girl.

The other day the weather was wonderful and we were all enjoying it in our back yard. A helicopter flew over head and Mook asked me what it was. I told him, and a minute later Gensie made a little fussy noise. I said to her "Gens what's the matter?" McKay answered "Oh I sink her scared of da airbur copper."
A little while later while Quinn and I were doing some yard work.  McKay wasn't obeying so I made him sit on the back steps. As he sat there he was crying and feeling sorry for himself. A few minutes later he had his arms folded and was looking up into the sky and this is what I heard. "Heavenly Father and Jesus please come down and save me.  Ok?  K bye."

Last night we were getting ready to have family scripture study. McKay wanted to read so he got a Book of Mormon, sat down in his little chair and this is how he read: "And it came to pass Salmon the Yaminite did not build a boat. Nephi he did build a boat and his brothers said no. Ammon have king sheep, Yaminites get kings sheep.  Ammon say no, Yaminites say yes."  Then he closed the book.
