Tasha's New Boots

So on Monday we took a drive into Portland for Tasha to get a massage and then to enjoy the beautiful spring day at Washington Park.  I dropped her off and then took McKay and Genesis on a walk through the Rose Test Gardens (no blooms yet of course).  I came back to pick Tasha up and couldn't find her.  I eventually found her in a boot and purse shop, where she found these at a great price.  We thought we would share the find!

Our little man seems to have been learning a few things about how to sew.  Hope it brings a laugh!

Car Seat Cover

Tasha just made Gensie a car seat cover.  The green polka dot cover was McKay's, and the new pink one is for Gensie.

A day in the life of Gensie

These pictures can give you an idea of what it is like to be a little sister, with some omissions.  To get an idea of her daily routine I told Tasha that a lot of Gensie's day is spent eating.  Tasha said, "Uh, No!  This blog is rated G"

Tummy time in the morning

Putting her brother down for a nap

Taking a nap herself

Trying out her new Bumbo seat

McKay trying out her new Bumbo seat ... Or Gensie won this round of musical chairs

Story time before bed

A day in the life of Mookey

These pictures will give you a look into the blissful life of a toddler.

First thing in the morning, he has to sort his movies.  You might say he judges them by the covers.

Outside, enjoying a beautiful spring day
Nap time
A little study time after his restful nap.

Dinner.  Need I say more?

During "naked time" before bed McKay really needed to help Mom clean the fridge.  And a cold brick of cheese on the backside really makes him giggle!

McKay's Room

This is for my sisters.  Here are all the pictures of McKay's room.

Hallway, looking at his door.  Sign above the door says, "All because two people fell in love"

We painted the crib and Grandma Pearce made the crib skirt and sheet.  The bumper and blanket came from a Value Village 50% off sale.

We sanded and varnished this shelf ourselves.  It is a Goodwill special!  The lamby was Uncle Andon's, and McKay has to sleep with it everynight.

Unloading and reading ALL the books on this shelf is one of McKay's most favorite activities.  We painted this shelf as well; it used to be a light tan and was very ugly.  DI special.

We sanded and varnished the rocking chair (it was a lot more work than we thought it would be).  But now all the furniture matches!

Tasha made the curtains to match the crib skirt.  The dresser came from Goodwill.

Tasha found this at Salvation Army while still pregnant with Gensie.  She thought it was so perfect and knew it would resemble the kids.  Sure enough, Gensie came with dark hair and we have our little blond boy

Too much help

Mckay absolutely loves his sister.  He thought she was bored in her bed, so he decided to provide her with some toys to play with.

Where's Gensie?

There she is!

Find of the Day

Tasha found this stool at Goodwill, and the clerk announced to everyone that she thought that it was the find of the day.  Tasha recovered it with some scrap fabric that we had, and now it matches our living room.  She has been wanting a foot stool to use when we watch movies.  Now maybe we can find one that is big enough for BOTH of us to use.
