A few more pieces of news

Two things that we wanted to post about that I forgot to include on the last post:

The wonderful news (that we debated sharing but decided it was the kind of thing we could share with family) that we recently paid off our baby. 100% paid for before he/she is even born, but so were all our kids. Because baby is all paid for we were able to use our tax return for Quinn's student loans and now after 6 1/2 years we are completely 100% debt free! It feels so good. We haven't been able to pay it off before now because all of our tax returns always went either to pay for a baby or our van. The sad thing about it is that half our debt was a student loan that Quinn had to take out to pay for his broken arm. Yea, we have been paying for that all these years.

Our life since Christmas

I know. I know. We haven't posted since December. I keep thinking I'll do a blog post as soon as something interesting happens. Well it just so happens I don't feel like life has been interesting lately. Coming back from Christmas is hard. We weren't ready to leave and it's so lonely up here.  All I could think was the next exciting thing isn't happening until the end of March. That's so far away still! Then I realized life may not be the most interesting lately but it's still our life and this is our family Journal so I should still post.

Since we got back from Idaho (and I'm not kidding) we have had nearly constant sickness in our home. It has been quite rough, tiring, and really annoying. We are usually quite healthy but it's like all the sugar and lack of sleep got to us and bam, we've been sick. The reason it has lasted so long is because one person would get sick at a time. I don't think we even had 2 sick at the same time. Someone would get a sore throat and fever for a few days, they'd get better and the next person wouldn't get it till the next week. So we always thought we were just getting over something when the next person would get it. So between fevers, sore throats, coughs, runnny noses, throwing up, and ear aches making their way through a family of 5, we have been sick for a while. Now we are getting over some runny noses and coughs but everyone is feeling much bettter.

Quinn got released from being the assistant ward mission leader and is now the first counselor in the sunday school presidency. He still teaches High Priest quorum.
Tasha got released from the nursery (the one at church not the one at home). It has been very nice to once again chat with people at church and, with being this pregnant, the getting up and down in nursery just wasn't easy especially if I wanted my hips to stay in place.

I am officially officially sick of peoples lack of filter or kindness when they talk to me about my pregnancy or how I look. I asked Quinn if I could wear a sign that says "I won't talk about how big you are if you don't talk about how big I am". He said he thought it best if I didn't. It's too bad that so many people have been rude and inconsiderate because I have gained less weight this pregnancy and I like the way I look this time far better than the other 3 pregnancy's! I'm just more straight out in front.

Our hearts are breaking for a dear family in our ward whom we are friends with. It's a husband and wife with two little boys. One boy is just older than McKay and the other is exactly Gensie's age. One week ago they found out that their oldest boy has a brain stem tumor. And he only has a month of two to live. There is nothing the doctor can do so they just have to prepare to let him go. It has hit so close to home for us since we have a little boy nearly the same age. We have prayed and prayed for this family and for those who are impacted by it.  Even though many of us have a testimony about life after death, even if we know or believe he is going to a much better place and has a celestial guarantee, and even if we see it as him just going to live with Heavently Father and Jesus for a little while until his mom and dad can come to him ... it is still heart wrenching to think of these parents having to really face saying their goodbyes to a 5 year old son.

Our pregnancy is going great. I have just less than 5 weeks left.  We do seem to have bad timing though, considering our friends' trial. It's hard to think that we could be showing up to church with a new baby at the same time this family is showing up with one less child. Twice I have had a baby when another family member has lost one.

Mckay and Gensie still have no doubt that our baby is a boy.  They call him TaNye (pronounced Tuh-nigh). Actually the whole family calls him that. It's hard not to when you hear them do it so much. I've been trying to keep myself busy with projects to help pass the time for the baby coming. I've been sewing a few baby blankets, doing another quiet book with some friends up here, I'm hosting a Norwex party, feeding the missionaries, and plan to re-upholster a chair.  Do you think 5 weeks is enough time for that? :)
