We visited the Oregon coast with them as well. We took a scenic drive through some small towns and ended up in Astoria, where we ate some fish and chips and saw the view from the Astoria Column. To get to the top of the column you have to take a circular stairway of 164 steps (easy to get dizzy doing that). Once we were to the top, a woman was talking to Mckay and then asked, "How did he get up here?" I responded, "My husband carried him." The woman's response to that was, "Heavens to Betsy; what a man!"
We then drove down the coast to Seaside to walk along the beach and let Mckay have his first visit to the ocean. Quinn insisted on wading in the water and said that Mckay couldn't visit the ocean for the first time without wading in the water too. Mckay didn't like how cold the water was, and he made sure Quinn knew it. As soon as his feet hit the water he started hollering.
| Compliments of Grandma |
| Grandma was sure surprised to find Mckay crawling over his carseat to come say hello on the drive home. |
One of Mckay's and Grandpa's wrestling matches. Who do you think won this one?
